Aspirin contains salicylic acid which is the number one ingredient used by the major brands to combat pimples. Make your own at home salicylic mask by crushing up 7 uncoated aspirin tablets. Add a touch of bottled water to make a paste. Then add one teaspoon of organic honey.  Apply to face and leave on for about 15mnins. Rinse off

Milk is great for two reasons. First of all the fat in milk is a fantastic moisturizer. Secondly milk contains lactic acid which is a great ingredient to remove the dead skin cells from the top of your skin – which causes acne and pimples. Mix 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of organic honey and enough milk to make a paste. Use as a face scrub for about 2 minutes then rinse off.

Oatmeal has wonderful astringent properties and has been used to combat pimples for centuries. It cleans up pores and sooths the skin. Blend ¾ cup of oatmeal with one cup of water and bring to boil. Let it simmer for about 2 mins. Let it cool then apply to face. Leave for about 20 minutes then rinse.

Toothpaste Contains sulfur which in some cases can be a great ingredient to battle pimples. Sulfur is very drying and can irritate so it is to be used carefully. Dab a small amount on the ‘pimple only’ and leave over night. Don’t repeat every night. Monitor and do only every second night. Pimple should dry up and disappear.  Do not use toothpastes claiming to whiten or prevent plaque

Ibuprofen is a great ingredient to use when you feel a pimple coming on due to its anti-inflammatory benefits.  It will also calm redness and irritation. Split open a liquid Ibuprofen capsule and dab on the pimple. Leave – don’t rinse off.
